Siew Mun graduated with LL.B/Bachelor of Commerce from the Australian National University, Australia in 1996 and was admitted to practise in 1998. Prior to setting-up Foong & Partners together with Dato' Foong, Siew Mun was with Zaid Ibrahim & Co. for 6 years. She had been a Senior Associate with the Corporate & Commercial and Foreign Investment practice group since 2000.

She has experience in advising foreign and local clients on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures and corporate restructuring exercises involving companies and businesses in Malaysia and abroad. Siew Mun has advised and worked on various initial public offerings (IPOs), placements and rights issues, including IPOs on Bursa Malaysia, Singapore Stock Exchange, Hong Kong Stock Exchange and London Stock Exchange.

Siew Mun has been involved in acquisitions of land and properties for property development companies. She has advised on joint venture or joint development transactions for developers as well as financing agreements between developers and their mezzanine financiers. Siew Mun has acted in both public and private M&A transactions, involving companies in various industries including, manufacturing, healthcare and property development. She advised Eco World Development Group Berhad in a subscription of a strategic 27% stake of the enlarged share capital of Eco World International Berhad (EWI), as part of the listing of EWI on Bursa Malaysia.

In respect of capital markets work, Siew Mun has acted for Tune Protect Group Berhad for its offering and listing on Bursa Malaysia, and as Malaysian counsel for RE&S Holdings Limited for its listing on the Catalist Board of the Singapore Stock Exchange, and Xin Point Holdings Limited for its listing on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. She has also advised AirAsia Berhad in a private placement to its major shareholders, involving approximately 16.9% of its enlarged share capital, which raised RM1,006.20 million.
